Selling Out
I’m a little bothered that here in the NYC area, it seems that every other ad on TV has either Vampire Weekend’s “Holiday” or The Drum’s “Lets Go Surfing” as its backdrop music. In reality, the songs are being used for Honda, Tommy Hilfiger, and Volkswagen. The sad thing is that I really like both of these songs but now, when I listen to the radio, I...

The Internet Freaks Out Over Yahoo Killing... →
rafer: Rafer sez: The best suggestion I saw was moving Delicious into the Yahoo Developer Network, as it’s largely a media and metadata resource for that crowd.  Someone has to buy Delicious from the fools at Yahoo.  Or they need to bow to the pressure and retain it.  It is just such an important service and the information and learnings that could be gained from it has to be off the charts....

Yahoo To Shut Down Delicious
I can’t tell you how upset this makes me. Delicious has been my go to site for years, since it first was released, to find great links and information, as well as to keep track of links that are important to me or need to get back to later on. I have been a loyal user of the service for years. It has been my database of links in the cloud…when I needed to find that demo on a random...

The Real Rocket
There are baseball legends, and then there are baseball legends. And while I never had the pleasure of seeing Bob Feller play a game, in my mind there was always this mythical aura about career, his fastball, and his legendary and intimidating pitching skills. He was one of those larger than life personalities that you thought would live forever, but alas that didn’t happen as he died...

Jon Stewart from The Daily Show rips the Republicans in the “Lame As F@$k Congress” for not approving the 9/11 First Responder fund, and brilliantly, juxtaposes the Republican’s “heartfelt” sympathy soon after the attacks against their votes to deny the first responders the funds they need to get the appropriate financial support.

Sox Make Huge Moves  →
Wow, what a week for the Red Sox.  Earlier this week, they traded for Adrian Gonzalez from the Padres.  And today they have reportedly signed on Carl Crawford from the Tampa Bay Rays to an insane 7 year, $142 MM contract.   I’m actually a little surprised Crawford came to Boston.  I thought that the Angels had the pole position to get him, in part because I’d heard he didn’t...

That's Exactly His Proposal, Stupid →
robertreich: The President should propose that the Bush tax cuts be extended for EVERYONE — but only on their first $250,000 of income. Hey, wait a minute. That’s exactly what he is proposing. EVERYONE gets a continuation of the Bush tax cuts on the first $250,000 of their incomes. If your income is… Whoever is the communications director for this has their head up their ass and should...
